Description

Our newly developed and highest protection level to date, these Extra Long Bite Resistant Arm Guards with thumbhole were designed with the help of a Canadian school district to help protect teachers and education assistants from children who bite, scratch and pinch.

Manufactured using a cut resistant material named Cut-Tuff® CORE, these arm guards reduce the risk of human teeth penetrating skin from the hand and wrist to the upper arm. They offer our highest protection yet, with material rated to cut resistance level A6.

The arm guards can be worn using the thumbhole to give additional protection to the upper hand, or without it.

What the A6 rating means

Cut resistance is graded A1 to A9 under ANSI/ISEA 105, measured on the ASTM F2992 TDM-100 test: a fresh razor blade makes a single pass across the fabric and the grade records the load needed to cut through. A6 covers 3,000 to 3,999 grams of force — the second-highest of the nine levels.

Under the European scheme the same material reaches Level F on EN ISO 13997, which is 30 newtons and above and the highest cut grade EN 388 awards.

Sizing and care

Available in sizes S, M, L and XL. The size chart in the product images (reference drawing ES-9360) gives the measurements in centimetres, taken with the garment laid flat.

The fabric is stretchable and lined with Lycra, and is meant to sit close to the skin rather than loose, so measure against the chart rather than working from your usual garment size. Sold in pairs.

Machine washable on a cold cycle. Lay flat to dry.
